Shifting Sands

Today I shall being uploading my latest series titled Shifting Sands to my Fine Art Collection Site Fine Art site.

This will be my first Black & White series in over 5 yrs and I must say I am really enjoying the process. Originally shot color via my Hasselblad H3D-II hi-res digital camera. After closer investigation into the subject matter I found myself leaning more and more toward presenting these as limited edition fine art b&w digital prints on archival paper which truly does do them justice.

Another first for TMPhoto

Dibond Mounting

I shall also for the first time be offering these prints in a large format mounted via a aluminum dibond process finished with an acrylic surface which will in my option be an amazing addition to any collection whatever environment it may find itself .

Please check these beautiful images and please don't hesitate to contact me to find out more.

cheers

Tom

Art Donated By World Renowned Artists To Benefit Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières

May 17, 2010. New York, NY. A team of humanitarians and art lovers have gathered together to create HeArt for Haiti, an impressive bevy of artwork to be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to Doctors without Borders/Medicines Sans for Haiti Earthquake relief.

World renowned photographers and artists including Ture Lillegraven, Danny Clinch, Stephen Wilkes, Peter Hapak, Martin Schoeller, Tom McGhee, Phil Toledano and Pamela Hanson, to name a few, have donated signed prints to the cause.

The campaign is a collaboration of four organizations dedicated to healing the world through art: Heart Art, Sascha and Stephen Mallon, red run creative and agmac.

The auction will take place online at http://benefitevents.com/auctions/heartforhaiti starting May 19th at 9:00 AM, and will be active until June 17th at 11:59 PM . There will be a one-night gallery opening on Wednesday, June 16th at Aperture Gallery, where potential buyers will be taken through how to register for the site and will have the opportunity to view the work they want to bid on in person.

Four months after the earthquake, the devastation in Haiti is still apparent to all who live there. There are still more than 1 million displaced, homeless people. While many governments are promising aid, there is still a lot that can be done with personal contributions.

Sand Art - I'm a Believer

On a recent journey to the shore I was inspired by the storms coming through along the east coast as a surfer I am always drawn to the water edge whenever I have an opportunity, while capturing images of the debris left behind from the rough seas. I became transfixed by the patterns left behind as the surf went in and out from the shore leaving behind what seemed like abstract life forms or maybe it was just my interpretation of the lines, shades and textures.

I put it down to having watched the latest offering of the Star Trek movie the night before. The textures and shapes left on the surface of the shoreline were representative in my mind at the time of some kind of alien civilization transported for a brief moment to somehow speak or converse a message to anyone lucky enough to be in the right place at the right...

I am happy they choose me to bring their message to you.

Psycho House on the move

I recently received word from the man who is featured in one of my recent images titlied "Psycho Surfer" that the house featured was recently relocated to safer dryer land not far from it's original place on the shores of Rodanthe. The house also known as "Serendipity" featured in the movie " "Nights at Rodanthe" starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane was placed on a trailer and moved thanks to the new owners Ben & Debbie Huss.

May they enjoy their new home along with the history that this old house has brought to the area.

check out the original print in my gallery section.

Breaking Apart Series

Welcome to 2010 and may it be a successful and joyful year for all.

To bring in the new year I have recently added a new series which I am very excited about as it brings another dimension to my existing body of work.

Captured on a extended break to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I found myself drawn to the beach for inspiration and lo and behold I found it in the form of a deconstructed beach house. The geometric shapes of the decaying foundations and supports worked so well giving one a false sense of security above the turbulent water below.

enjoy
