Psycho Surfer

A recent addition to our gallery of images is a print titled Psycho Surfer. To the casual viewer they may feel that the house is not real and that this is a visual trick via photo shop. Well I have to reassured all that the house is in fact real and was featured in the film "Nights in Rodanthe" starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. This was captured on a recent photo trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I was there to take in the beauty of the day after Hurricane Bill paid a visit, the seas were still rough and the clouds as you can see were still quite dramatic.

Making of the image

This shot came almost by chance I was setting up to capture the ebb and flow of the ocean flowing around the house when out the corner of my eye I spotted a surfer leaving the water further down the beach. I thought to myself this shot would be that much richer if I had a person there and the next minute this surfer who goes by the name "Iceman" was looking over my shoulder saying he loved photography and began to ask the usual questions one does e.g what F stop are you shooting etc... I simply said " I need you in this image grab your board and lets go" once in place we shoot a series of images and there we have it.

Place your bets

It has come to my attention since, that the local people of the area are taking bets on when the house will be taken by the ocean.I fear if it ever doe's I'm sure it will be sadly missed.

As they say catch them while you can, here today gone tomorrow.
btw. It's still on the market location location
